In Muğla’s Fethiye district, the divers of the Elite diving school celebrated the 94th anniversary of the 30 August Victory Day with the mise-en-scene of the Turkish soldier and the Turkish flag, who were martyred under the sea and reached the rank of martyrdom. While the divers under the sea were watching this moment emotionally, the fish were in the parade.
In Fethiye, a ceremony was held 5 metres under the sea by Elite diving school in Dalyan Bay for the 94th anniversary of 30 August Victory Day. Serap Metintürk, one of the instructors of Elite Diving School, took part in the ceremony in front of the Turkish flag with her angel outfit and Önder Diktaş with his sailor outfit. Instructor and underwater photographer Aydın Tanal captured this moment in seconds. The divers at the bottom of the sea experienced emotional moments. A minute of silence was observed at the seabed.
Instructor Serap Metintürk stated that as a diving school, they organised underwater activities on 23 April, 19 May, 29 October and 10 November and said, ‘Today, on 30 August, we organised a martyr-themed event to show our gratitude to our martyrs and veterans. We prepared our clothes and costumes days in advance and opened our flag 5 metres below the sea. We had our angel next to our martyred Turkish soldier. We did this activity as a symbol and indicator that they went to heaven while rising to the rank of martyr. We celebrate 30 August Victory Day,’ he said.
Instructor Önder Diktaş said, ‘We commemorated all our martyrs and veterans with this activity. We prepared for this activity for a month. Thanks to our martyrs, we will protect the land of the homeland we won together.’
