Divers in Fethiye, Muğla, celebrated Republic Day on 29 October in a very special way. They planted 93 Turkish flags at the bottom of the sea off Dalyan Bay.

A large group of divers joined the event, including three instructors from Elite Diving School. They placed the flags underwater. It was a symbolic act to mark the 93rd anniversary of the Republic.

Instructor Tayfun Çökmez said the dive was symbolic. It was their way to honor the foundation of the Republic.

“We planted 93 Turkish flags underwater. Then we organized a flag parade with our divers,” said Çökmez. “We proudly remember our martyrs who gave their lives for this land. Moreover, we commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades who gifted us this day. Finally, we honor our veterans and everyone who worked hard for this path.”

The underwater flag ceremony was powerful. It created respect and national pride. As a result, the event became more than just a dive. It was a meaningful tribute to Turkey’s history.
